2006

she pushed the golden sand around her, making it constantly collapse into tiny mountains. straining her eyes she looked at the ever blasting sun, forcing her eyes to stay open to make her remember what she will miss, and what she will both consciously and subconsciously hold on to. the rules, discipline, lack of it, rebellion, lack of rebellion, overdose of blended emotions. Halt. kneading the sand with both hands, the ocean glittered, like a blanket embedded with tiny sequins scattered all around her. all around her. this unfair and unkempt galaxy was taking her away from what she only just realised, that she will miss for eternity and never have to cling to again. ever. Paused. like a video tape, whirring silently, with occasional static. shifting her head to see the tiny pinnacles in the sand, she fell next to them, circling the path with her fingers, until she reached the watery lagoon. she lay there thinking. any regrets?
too difficult to possibly ponder.
perhaps, some. she thought. she splashed the lagoon wildly and sat, knees to her chest, biting her lip frantically. to forget,
would be to not live.
to forget these small supposedly insignificant details, to remember the larger events.
one person said we only remember the beginning and ends of things, but rarely consider the middle in great detail.
a periwinkle blue umbrella now spread across the earth, making the golden sand turn into a shades of turquoise and navy. picking up a handful of sand, she softly blew it to the sea, kissing goodbye what had been.
